Week 8: H

I'm about a week late but hey better late than never.  So last weeks letter was H and this one was another no-brainer.

I love Harry Potter; I first started reading the books a little over 10yrs ago and they are absolutely amazing!  When I first read The Sorcerer's Stone  it reminded me of one of my favorite books growing up The Witches.  Yes I know they are two different stories but it's the fantastical idea of magic and adventure.  I mean how can you not like a book that brings you back to your childhood of fantasy and of course the ever constant battle of good vs. evil.  And of course once I started reading the first book I quickly dove in to the rest of the series which was then followed by the movies which were AMAZING!

I will never forget that moment of seeing Hogwarts for the very first time, it was exacty how I envisioned it and more.

Just thinking about that moment right now makes me feel like a little kid, lol my inner geek is shinning through.  And incase anyone is wondering I have seen all but one as a midnight showing and yes standing in line for a few hours to finally see my favorite series come to life was so well worth it.  Did my hubby think I was crazy-or course, but hey I am a true fan.  Even now I can watch it over and over again when ABC Family decides to run a Harry Potter weekend.  What is even more exciting is that my kids love the movies and DD1 just finished book 1 and book 2 should be here shortly.  Oh and incase you're wondering yes I have the books but they're in hardback and even though I know she would take care of my books I still couldn't let her read them; I know call me crazy or selfish but when I buy hardback it's because I really love the book and want them to last.  But like I said her book should be here any day now.

Week 7: G

This weeks challenge was a no-brainer because my word is Games, and not just any game it's our all-time favorite and we play every time we're together.

I am always the racecar and she is always the money bags.  This game has sparked much laughter, eating way to many sweets and on occasion some arguing (I'm competitive), which always ends in laughter.  We have our own rules like no one can buy until you've passed GO, however you're subject to pay taxes (which sucks), and even if you go to jail you still have to pass GO until you can buy.  All taxes go to Free Parking, and there are certain properties that when you land on it you have to say it a certain way; for ex. Baltic Ave, is Ball Sac (lol I know childish but hilarious) the other ones are to hard to write because it's how we say it.  Why, I don't know it's just how we are and it's how we've always been.  Oh and you can not pick up someone else's Chance or Community Chest card unless they ask you to; don't want your bad mojo.  However, we don't we care if you move our game piece.  There have been times when DH has decided to play with us and sometimes regrets it because we'll gang up on him, however, the last time we played they ganged up on me and I'll admit I wasn't to happy but it was nothing a glass of milk and a BIG helping of German Chocolate Bar couldn't fix.

The picture to your right is the Holy Grail of Monopoly for us, which is currently in our mom's possession.  She purchased this back in the early 90's before my sister and I started to make this game our thing to do-it's as if she knew.  The deal is when she does decide to give it to us it's a 6month split between the two of us and that's just fine.  Our little obsession goes a little further; we've also talked about getting a tattoo to commemorate our love, and sisterhood.  I think many of you can understand but this game really is a part of us and our relationship,  we're constantly cutting-up, and sometimes throw in a few serious talks.  Even my DH gets it, one day while listening to the news they were talking about N. Carolina and he thought of my sister (because how she says it), and he texted her a pic just for laughs.  And even though we welcome a visitor or two to play with us (no kids allowed), we really do prefer for it to just be the two of us.

Now it's your turn; I want to know if there is a game you and your siblings or spouse love to play.  It doesn't have to be a board game it can be anything.  For instance a game DH and I love to play with his parents and got my sister into is Farkle-love this game.  And our fave thing to yell out is "What the Farkle!"

Week 6: F

It's that time again and after looking at a list of "F" words I've decided to pick out a couple instead of just one, this way you can get to know me better.

Frenzy: I have a slight problem, I don't think it is but if you ask my DH or my sister they would loudly disagree with me.  "They" think I suffer with OCD, I know we shouldn't put labels on anyone and before you start wondering I'm not anything like Melvin Udall (name sounds familiar doesn't it).  I do know I have some quirks like putting things BACK  where you found them, and not just thrown wherever in the cabinet right back where you found it.  I like my clothes and everyone else's to face in the same direction I even have mine and the kids closet in order.  Which means all pants/jeans are together, then short sleeves, then long sleeves nothing is intermingled which goes the same with skirts all together and then dresses.  Not necessarily in that order but you get the idea.  Although I gave up on DH because they literally hang every which way and avoid contact with his side at all times. Everything has to be put away before I go to bed like no dishes in the sink, no toys/clothes/shoes thrown all over the floor.  Now hold on don't judge and think when you walk in my it's immaculate because it's not I promise.  There are toys in just about every room in the house but by the end of the day I like them to be in a basket, or at least pushed up against the wall so I'm not tripping over them.  When I start to see BIG messes like when the kids decide to take everything out at once and play I have to look away and ignore or else I start to feel all antsy and it'll drive me nuts but they know it better be ALL picked up before they go to bed.  I know what y'all are thinking "this chick is cuckoo for coco puffs" and you know what maybe I am, but it'll make some humor for those of you like my DH and sister who find it funny and YES I do laugh at myself because if I didn't I'd go stark raving mad (said in Scottish tone) and most days when I feel like this

Funny/Filthy: First off let me say that I'm extremely sarcastic and once you know that about me I come across funny and not bitchy.  First impressions can be hard because I may come across mean but I promise I'm not and when I'm being mean you'll know it.  I can't help my sarcasm that's how I've always been and that's how I'll always be and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Now onto filthy...hmm what is she going to say, is she going to get uber personnel and tell us some kinky stuff her and her man do I mean they do have 4 KIDS, you KNOW they gotta be freaks.  Bahahaha sorry for that inner monolgue I wouldn't torture y'all like that but what I will say is that sometimes a dirty mind is just a terrible thing to waste, mix that with sarcasm and well we'll be laughing all night

Week 5: E

While reading one of my new fav blogs: Graceful Disaster I came across a fun challenge to do. It's a weekly challenge hosted by Love Kate; I know I've started a little late but I don't think anyone would mind.

So here it is week 5 and the letter is E; I thought I would do Embarrassing, because really deep down we ALL love to laugh at someone when they do something embarrassing. First runner up...9th grade, that's right high school. This is supposed to be a time where you're cool because well you're in high school, you've already gone thru puberty and any other awkwardness like braces and finally getting boobs. Wish I could say the same. Ok so my 9th grade was my preppy stage and any prep would know to complete just about any out you need some cute looking flats/loafers/deck shoes, you know what I'm talking about I think all the rage was Cole Haan's and no I didn't buy the expensive brand. Anyway I loved my shoes and wore them all the time until they decided to have a mind of their own. The first time (yep there's a second) I slipped in them was after a boys basketball game (I was an athletic trainer-or as I put someone who got out of P.E. to watch the boys). We just got back to school and as I'm getting off the bus I just don't slip on one step I slipped down ALL of them landing on my rear on the cement with the medical bag spilled all over me. Oh the horror of having to laugh at myself because it was funny but also TOTALLY AND UTTERLY EMBARRASSED! Of course everyone is laughing but they did help up and needless to say my ego along with my butt and elbows were bruised.

Incident #2: same damn shoes because I didn't learn the first time. My BF and I decide to go to a JV basketball game and as they're warming up what happens I slip in a puddle of water and bust my ass AGAIN! But this time to make it worse not only am I my BF, and kids laughing but so is the visiting coach!! Needless to say I got up laughed brushed myself off gave the coach my most bitchest look and threw those damn shoes away.

Incident #3: Now this one I'm not embarrassed but it's funny as hell. As any mom knows once you have kids your bladder just doesn't work the way it used to. Well one night I was hanging with my friends having fun chilling when I start having a sneeze attack; before I could cross my legs I peed on myself, and so much that you could see it. And of course this brought on much more hysterics cause it's just to damn funny when that happens. Wish I could say my bladder works better but it doesn't and I still have to cross my legs and hope for the best and sometimes I do pee on myself...hmmm maybe I should get some depends :)

Well there you have it a few embarrassing moments in my life I'm sure there are more but maybe my subconscious has blocked them out. Hope everyone has a fun weekend!
