The Truth

On Sunday morning our Pastor played a very interesting video, of course that was when I had to get up so I missed it.  However David said it was really good and found it on youtube.  Anyway I thought I would post it and see what y'all thought about it.

Wow! When I heard the first half, I thought it sounded so depressing, and yet frighteningly true. When I heard the second half, I wanted to believe it. But I had to think on two different levels. One level being that which is confined to our Earthly existence--which made the first half sound most accurate. The second level being eternal, in which case I find the second half also to be true. The thing is, I don't believe the second half will ever find its truth in our present world despite God's admonishments and instructions to us. Perhaps we COULD turn things around (in terms of it being theoretically possible. However, in reality, I believe the best that can happen in our present world is to play a part in bringing as many people as possible into awareness of where their real faith belongs--which is not in Earth or the human race at all).

I believe in the prophecy of the scriptures, and so I believe our current existence is temporary, and will end just as prophesied, and there's nothing we can do to change that. I believe the world is going to Hell in a handbasket and the only great things in store for the human race are for those who accept Christ as their lifesaver, as that is the only way they will one day see an existence where Satan is finally banished to Hell and Christ reigns forever. And THAT, in context, is the "good" that is in store for our children and the point at which some form of altruism "wins."

So there's my soapbox for the day.

I'm curious about the context in which your pastor used this.

I think that things will be turned around. Maybe not in our lifetimes but in our children's and our grandchildren's lives.
The girls are already learning about what's happening to the earth and what they need to do to make it better and they are only in first and second grade. I think that they are going to grow in an education that is teaching them reality and what they need to do to make it better.
As adults they will practice these things and pass them on to their children.
I think there is great hope.
This video was really wonderful. The first half was kind of like our reality and the second half was what our future families have to look forward to.
Thank you for sharing.

I thought the same thing as "MGM" pretty depressing, but wow, how awesome to know that GOD can change all of that for our future and our lives.
