I've made my decision.

"Chancho. When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It's for fun."
“It rubs the lotion on its skin. It does this whenever it is told.”-Silence of the Lambs

Yeah!!!  I'm so glad that some of y'all knew yesterday's quote.  I was talking to Ashly while I was blogging and asked her what movie I should use and she said "Silence of the Lambs"  Everytime one of us says this quote to the other we both start laughing-why I don't know we're just goofy like that.  David on the other hand thought I would look like a what's the word Tracy used oh yeah nutjob.  He obviously thought I would come across crazy but I didn't because I knew one of my bloggy friends would not leave me hanging and knew the quote.

Ok so I spent most of the day yesterday looking up homeschool curriculum.  That's right I've decided to go ahead and homeschool Sweet Pea starting in Aug.  I looked up different websites and I think I've found one that I like.  It's Sonlight and it has a full curriculum which is good for me because I need something that has it all layed out for me.  David and I talked about it and he looked at the curriculum and he like it too.  I will also be using some of the sites that have free printouts for her to color.  I just want to say thank you to all of you who commented about homeschooling a few days ago.  Everything y'all said was very helpful.  Now I just ask that all of you pray for me on this new journey because come Aug. school starts back up for me and plus for patience for me and Sweet Pea.  I want this to be a fun learning experince, and another way for us to bond together.  Again thanks for all your support.

Yeah! Congrats on the decision. I think you'll find Sonlight maps thing out so well that you have minimal planning effort. At least if you are doing the Preschool. I just started the kindergarten with my daughter, and I think it's still laid out really well, but since I'm pretty new at this, it still felt a little like rocket science when I began sifting through all the instructor guides and worksheets and appendices and maps, and all the stuff you gotta open and shut and flip to, and yada yada yada. I still think it's great, but I am learning how to modify as Daughter is capable of reading and doing a whole lot more at one sitting than is planned out and it just seems like a hassle to open a book for one or two pages and then go on to another book. We zoom ahead on the reading and stay closer on target with the handwriting and math, given that she is not even 4 yet.

I'm betting you'll have lots of fun with this!

Is that quote from Nacho Libre by any chance? Haven't seen the movie, but it just sounds like something that would be in that movie.

And congrats on the decision! I'm sure you and Sweet Pea will have a lot of fun!

Congrats! Homeschooling is not allowed where I live so I just homeschool my boys during their summer vacations. It's great fun and I see the improvement they're doing so I know thew will return to school much better prepared.

Good luck and keep us posted about your experiences, ok?
