It's Britney

Well I'm not one to watch the VMA but I did last night because I wanted to see Britney Spears.  For the past couple of weeks there has been talk about her making a comeback, songs leaked, and of course her being seen around Vegas with Criss Angel.  Which by the way I thought he was supposed to be helping her with this and umm I didn't see any magic tricks.  Anyway first let me say that after the way the tabloids have been hounding her for oh I don't know forever I thought it pretty gutsy of her to go out on stage knowing what has been said.  And to be honest I was really hoping for this awesome performance but sadly her performance didn't rock.  To me she looked really nervous (don't blame her), and kind of like she was just going thru the motions, she also seemed to forget the words to her song.  I felt bad when they panned the audience because they had this look like I can't believe she's actually up there.  No it wasn't great but I think she was almost regretting being there.  Oh but what really irked me is how I've read that she looked a little flabby-WHAT!  First off she looks a whole lot better than I do, and second she's not fat.  Sure she wasn't showing off a six-pack but damn give the girl a break she looked normal and no she didn't have a huge gross belly hanging out.  *Sorry for that rant it just really bugged me.  All in all I really think her purpose for a comeback is to get people to back off of her and quit talking about her every little mistakes.  But I think the only way they will leave her alone is if she just goes off into seclusion and just focus on her and her kids, put her life back together and try not to let it all get to her.  Anyway if you watched it what do you think and if not go to mtv.com and they have all the performances posted on there.  Hope y'all have a great Monday.

Bless you! Great post. You took the words right out of my mouth. Or, more accurately, I should say you echo my thoughts unexpressed in words. Thanks for expressing this so clearly. Britney does needs time alone.

I am not a VMA fan either, but we also tuned in last night for a peak at the comeback for Britney. She looked so scared and so out of place there. Her steps were out of whack and she was singing off timing with her track playing. It was sad to watch and I think the crowd was just as uncomfortable watching her performance as I was when they panned around at them. I did not think she looked fat by any means but she has a "mommy-body" full of soft curves now and probably could have done without that outfit, but fat??? Uh - no way! Wish I could pull that look off!!! :)
She needs to run away for awhile and get her life and her children's back on some kind of normal ground!

I just went and watched it at mtv.com and I'm kind of speechless. It was kind of hard to accept that the same girl who used to writhe all over the stage was this one who did a few dance moves like she didn't know what to do. She kind of looked like she didn't care.
I do agree with you about her body, I would kill to have it for myself. But the media is cruel. She doesn't look like she did five years ago but what woman does after growing two beautiful little lives in her body?
I think that she should just go live her life out of the public eye. It's not like she doesn't have enough money to live the rest of her life on and I'm so worried that her two little boys are going to grow into Ozzy Osbornes kids.

I honestly don't feel sorry for her. She's gone and done this to her life. She chooses to keep going out and partying until 4 in the morning instead of being home with her kids. Instead of practicing for her big comeback performance, she was out partying until 3 a.m. the two days before!

And I didn't think she looked fat either, I mean, she's in way better shape than I am. But she didn't look like she was in perfect shape either, and I don't think she should have been wearing that outfit, because it didn't exactly make her look better.

The only person I feel sorry for are her poor two kids, who are stuck with two deadbeat parents and have no chance at a normal childhood. Hopefully their nanny does a really, really good job with them. :(

I watched also and really wanted her to do well. I'm not a big Brit fan but I like to root for the underdog. I think Sarah Silverman's jokes were out of line though - she shouldn't attack Brit's boys - no matter how stupid their parents may be - to refer to those boys as mistakes was out of line.

Personally, I feel that she looked amazing. I could only wish for that body. And I have no problems with her outfit 'cause I thought she still looked great in it. She wasn't all toned muscle but she still looked dang hot.

What I found was disturbing was her 'spaced out' and confused look plus the total lack of energy. It was definitely not her best moment or performance.
